Painted from life. Pop Eberle's pool table, a reminder of the days he used to travel the country making money playing pool with the moniker, "Brick Layer" which was his other job. He also played semi-pro football at 176 pounds. I met him as an old man in his eighties.

A color study for a larger painting. I took forty minutes which I happen to know because I had the camera on a tripod automatically taking a photo every minute...time lapse.  I took two photos of the final stage. One was in focus, but the blurred one seems interesting, too. Need to keep the original for a while in case I do the big version. The canvases are expected on the 28th...seven prestreched 1.5" thick...2- 3'x4', 2- 2'x3', 3- 2'x2'...fitted together they made a 6'x8' mural.

The funny stuff at the top is Arizona sand from when the wet canvas flopped over onto the ground. It's W&N water mixable oils. Very nice to use...they thin readily with water, no smell, clean up is a breeze.
